About

Maree was born in Dublin in 1962. She studied at Galashiels College of Textiles Scotland. Her practice encompasses drawing, sculpture, textiles and participatory art. At the heart of her artistic practice is the engagement and participation of community.

She has successfully completed several Public Art Commissions, Site Specific Installations, Artist in Residence programmes and Community Based Participatory Art projects. She has been commissioned by the OPW to produce artwork for textiles and furniture for the Irish embassies in Belfast, Rome, Lisbon, Copenhagen, Ottawa and The Hague. By collaborating with cutting edge architectural practices Maree has been instrumental in evolving contemporary styles for a number of site specific projects. She collaborated with Mark Ryan Sculptor on a number of projects.
